Hey idiots and ignoramuses alike! This blog has been created to entertain our fans and friends as well as promote and inform you all of our new project that we have started. Contrary to the views of our great friend
Jabee Williams, blogging is the new Black. So hop on bored and become a part of this blog as much as time allows you to. There will be laughter,
tears, and virtual beers. There will be pictures of S.I.D. making out with blind and deaf women, DJ
SL making out with his whiskey strait, and myself making out with my beloved microphone. This blog will also include sneak peaks at new music, info on side projects, tour dates and just random stuff that we feel like sharing with you...like the time
Quabedaeux Pontiac in Tucson, AZ completely took apart
Saevio's car when all he asked for was a public bathroom that he could use. Or the two times that
SL's 96
Astro Vans (plural) broke down on us, in the middle of nowhere, on two separate tours. Or even the time when DJ
Deeko of the
Jivin Scientists
freestyled in his sleep while
simultaneously snoring and pleasuring himself with his
crossfader hand. There is never a dull moment! You can also expect posts from our extended family (
Jabee,
MetafORACLE,
Jivin Scientists,
JBM,
McNastee and others). So sit back and enter the world of the 8bit crew. It
doesnt suck...
First of all, we are very excited about the new 8bit Cynics album. On the eve of the Sonic Value release with
JBM and myself, we decided to start the new album which we will release sometime around June 2009. It will be titled "FLANNEL". Ya, like the lumberjack flannel shirts. This may sound bizarre to you at first, but our music has increasingly been coming out with a sort of "Western" sound (its very hard to describe). So instead of trying to correct this non-stereotypical Hip Hop sound, we decided to embrace it and run with it. Bottom line...Shit sounds dope!!! We are three tracks through at this point and every song ties in to one another. This album not only will be different in production and instrumentation, but the format and
arrangement will also be taken in a new direction. It's not going to be a typical collection of rap songs like most hip hop records. This will be a complete story from start to finish about the plight of a hard working man turned crook, and his journey across the American Southwest to find success, love and happiness. We are flirting with the idea of formatting it like a play, including an intermission and possibly a booklet of supporting characters if our finances allow us to do so. Anyhow, we are taking this one to the next level.
In the meantime, pick up "These Boots were Made for Walking" and "Self Help". Also, look for the much anticipated Sonic Value album,"Nothing 2 Pretty" early 2009. It's going to be a big year for all of us. Come be a part of our movement.
